Prof. Dr. Khamis Elessi is a Professor at the Islamic University of Gaza with a specialization in Evidence-Based Medicine, Pain Management, and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. He has published extensively in medical and clinical research, contributing valuable insights to pain treatment, rehabilitation sciences, and evidence-based clinical practice. His academic work has significantly influenced medical education and healthcare delivery in challenging contexts.Beyond academia, Prof. Elessi has been an advocate for advancing healthcare in Gaza, addressing both clinical needs and systemic challenges. His contributions represent a balance of scholarly rigor and humanitarian dedication, reflecting his commitment to improving the quality of life and medical services in his community.
Dr. Farashin F. Silevany, DO, MPH, is an internal medicine physician and global health humanitarian associated with Rahma Worldwide. She completed her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University and currently practices as a hospitalist in Michigan, USA. Dr. Silevany has led and participated in numerous international medical missions in conflict and disaster-affected regions, including Gaza, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Sudan, Bangladesh, and several countries in Latin America. Through her work with Rahma Worldwide, she contributes to emergency medical response, public health service, and community-based humanitarian relief. Her dedication to humanitarian service has earned her several recognitions, including the Spirit of Humanity Award from the American Human Rights Council. Dr. Silevany is committed to advancing health equity, compassion-centered care, and global solidarity through her medical and humanitarian mission work.
Dr. Medhat Abbas serves as the Director-General for the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza. With extensive experience in public health administration and medical leadership, he has overseen critical healthcare programs and initiatives under highly challenging circumstances. His leadership has been pivotal in addressing urgent health crises and ensuring access to essential medical services for the people of Gaza. In addition to his administrative role, Dr. Medhat has been a key voice in highlighting the healthcare challenges faced by Palestinian communities on the international stage. His work exemplifies resilience, dedication, and commitment to improving public health systems in the face of adversity.
Prof. Heru Susetyo is a Professor at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Indonesia, specializing in human rights, law, and social sciences. He has earned degrees from leading institutions, including an LL.M. from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, and a Ph.D. from Universitas Indonesia. His expertise lies in the intersection of law, human rights advocacy, and international cooperation. Prof. Heru has also been actively involved in academic and professional organizations, contributing to policy discussions and legal scholarship both nationally and internationally. His role as an educator and researcher underscores his dedication to advancing justice, human rights, and the development of inclusive legal frameworks.
